Enhanced natural environment

Picture3
All good farmers know how important it is to farm in a sustainable manner, within the natural limits of the land. This is especially true for organic farmers, like ourselves. We don’t use any artificial fertilizers or pesticides and we work with nature to encourage biodiversity.
We’ve been farming our farm organically for over 20 years and a recent study by Oxford University scientists found that organic farms, on average, support 34% more plant, insect and animal species than conventional farms.
Healthy soils, with high levels of organic matter, are the foundation of the food system, and we take great care to ensure that our soils remain healthy.

On our farm, we have double-fences to protect hedge-rows that act as corridors for wildlife and we have invested heavily in infrastructure to reduce the risk of pollution.
Our farm overlooks the raised bog of Cors Fochno, part of the Dyfi National Nature Reserve and a section of the Wales Coastal Path passes through our land; we work with Natural Resources Wales to maintain and enhance this important natural asset.
