Local, Organic Milk
Our forefathers once sold milk directly and now, nearly 150 years later, we’re proud to be able to provide our delicious, organic milk from our farm to your family.
Why choose our organic milk?
What does ‘gently pasteurised’ mean?
Pasteurisation is a process which ensures that the milk is free from any harmful bacteria and allows you to enjoy the milk for longer.
Our milk is gently pasteurised at a temperature of 65°c for 30 minutes. On a large, supermarket scale, milk is pasteurised at a much higher temperature for a shorter length of time. Our, more traditional way of pasteurising, means that the milk maintains its more natural taste.
What does non-homogenised mean?
Homogenisation is a process by which the fat globules in the milk are broken down into tiny particles and dispersed throughout the milk. Our milk is non-homogenised, meaning that, over time, the cream will rise to the top. Our vending machines gently agitate the milk, so don’t worry, you’ll always get a share of the cream. To disperse the cream once its settled, simply shake the bottle.
Can we buy semi-skimmed milk?
Not currently. We only sell whole, organic milk. Whole milk is 96% fat free, and is best enjoyed in its purest form.
How long will the milk last?
You should consume your milk within 3 days.
How do we wash our glass bottles?
Firstly, rinse your bottle with cold water. Then, either place the bottle in the bottom rack of your dishwasher or wash it as usual with hot, soapy water, preferably using a bottle-brush. Make sure the lid is clean and dry too, and don’t place the lid on the bottle until the bottle is completely dry. Don’t forget to bring it back to refill at our vending machine!
